System Failure Analysis: When External Variables Break the Model

The Decision to Close.

In June 2022, I made the tough call to close down The Purple Furball. The pandemic changed the economy, and keeping a physical location running became a battle against factors we simply couldn't control.

Physical Limits vs. Digital Freedom.

The lesson was harsh but clear: Brick-and-mortar businesses are fragile. They rely on foot traffic, supplies, and open doors. Digital businesses are different—they are resilient. You can move them, pause them, or grow them without being tied to a specific building.

The Realization.

This marked the end of my time as a shop owner and the start of my full transition to digital systems. I realized my true value wasn't in the shop itself—it was in the Systems I built to run it efficiently.
